2019–2020 Club Theme
“Stewards of the Earth”
All of nature is connected in a delicate balance. We are the stewards of everything in that balance. This year’s theme is “Stewards of the Earth”. Think of the earth as a garden and our club has an opportunity to make a positive impact on that garden. We wield great strength individually and, as an organization, it is our responsibility to be “Stewards of the Earth”.
We are a collective unit that does good: working with the elderly and children, bringing awareness to the importance of our natural surroundings, providing habitat for native plants, birds and butterflies, planting trees and flowers, and encouraging conservation. By raising funds for grants and scholarships, and improving public spaces, we enhance our area. We also have an added responsibility as stewards of our rivers and oceans. Include this in our visions and goals for our projects to educate and let it influence all the actions we take. We must strive to become better advocates for and protectors of all creation.
With over thirty committees, we successfully have worked on many important and worthwhile endeavors. Our success is due to the commitment of our members who give their time and talents to make our organization a well-respected part of the community. For this, you can never be thanked enough.
We are like a beautiful bouquet from a flower garden and not all bloom at the same time. Please reach out this year and get to know members that you may not know already and encourage them to bloom. Build friendships and have fun working together to accomplish our dreams. Together we can become “Stewards of the Earth.”
To paraphrase a few words from the inaugural address of President Thomas Jefferson who was also a passionate gardener: As President of the CFGC I express my grateful thanks for the favor and responsibility which you have bestowed upon me, so I look to you for guidance and support throughout the year.
