The Conservation Committee encourages Club members and the general public in their conservation efforts. This year included our continuing support of Alliance for Cape Fear Trees, an important local initiative to preserve, protect, and plant local trees. We also were excited to begin a new partnership with the NC State Extension
4-H, focusing on their efforts to teach middle schoolers about conservation and recycling. We are deep in the planning stages of a summer camp to take place in June.
The Conservation Committee’s ongoing fundraiser offers Club members the opportunity to purchase recycled cloth tote bags with the imprint of the state butterfly. Funds raised are returned to the committee’s budget to further our support of local agencies that help the environment.
